AMA Physician Practice Information Survey
Important Physician Survey Released Since Medicare reimbursement is a cornerstone of most Emergency Department practices, we want to encourage you to complete the new AMA Physician Practice Information (PPI) Survey if given the opportunity to do so. In the coming weeks you may receive a Physician Practice Information (PPI) Survey. The PPI survey is spearheaded by the American Medical Association (AMA), with the support of American College of Emergency Physicians, and conducted by the Gallup Organization.
Information collected through the PPI survey will affect Medicare reimbursement policies for many years to come. The survey seeks to quantify common professional expenses associated with medical practice and collect information on practice characteristics, provider hours worked, number of patient visits, number of procedures performed, participation in Medicare, and common characteristics of managed care plans. If you receive a PPI survey, it is critical that your answers accurately reflect the experience of your group. The survey is already in the field, so please be sure to check your received as well as incoming mail. If you have questions about the importance of retuning your survey instrument or the PPI survey process, please contact:
